Creative Director – David Vilner

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, David Vilner went to New York to pursue a performing arts career. In New York David studied Ballet at Joffrey Ballet School, where he met Mrs. Edith D’Addario, executive director of the Joffrey Ballet School, and during the interview for his acceptance at the school, Mrs. D’Addario told David, that to pursue his dream (to be an artist) he should study Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Voice and Acting; because without all of these he’d have no chance in New York City.

David followed her guidance, and beyond his daily Ballet classes at Joffrey, started taking Jazz classes with Luigi, Jo Jo Smith, and later with Frank Hatchett, Ronnie De Marco and others. He studied Tap with Judy Ann Bassing, Bob Audy, Germaine Salzberg and others. Ballet classes with Madam Darvash, Finis Jhung and David Howard, and Voice lessons with Mrs. Sylvia Lamounier, Acting classes with Maria Voheers.

David is a former dancer with The Joffrey Ballet Company and performed in the Broadway musicals “The Tap Dance Kid” and “Dancin”.

With 35 years experienced in dance, David Vilner taught in his own dance school in Pompano Beach, Florida…“David’s Dance Center”, and now he passes on his passion for dance to his new students in Somerville, Massachusetts.
